Getting quiet to get loud

Hello, friends -

My reflection is short and sweet this week.

Question:

How do you get quiet to get loud?

In other words, what practices support you in connecting with your truest self, your intuition, so that you can hear yourself clearly and know what it is you want to say?

Earlier this week, i found myself getting into a mental tizzy, and I just closed my laptop and turned my chair to face the window. I got present, paying attention to every detail of the tree limbs within view, and the sounds of the birds.

Getting quiet like this helped me realize, my body didn’t feel well. It felt achy and tired and unloved.

So I drew a bath.

I listened to Brene Brown.

And I emerged, half an hour later, restored.

You know my mission is for all of us to get louder — to fill the world with our voices and stories.

What you may not know is just how much I value getting quiet, in service of getting loud.

Tell me: What helps you connect with your truest self?

You are a mighty force -

Amanda

P.S. Please consider recommending becoming a paid subscriber to one woman you know — it helps me carve out the time to write Mighty Forces Express (and to interview amazing women — I have several very cool Q&As in the pipeline), and to spread my gospel to more people. And/or, consider giving a subscription as a gift.
